Welcome to Blossom Circle


Back in 2006 a friend of ours Tracy had a desire to run an event to help other women. Tracy decided to invite a few friends to her house and ran an auction night to raise money for the "Girls Night In" foundation. The GNI raises money for women with breast and gynaecological cancer. For 2 years this event was held in her own home and then it outgrew her living room so the following year it was held at a local cafe, Cleveland Cafe. The event only lasted 1 year at the cafe as we had more women who wanted to come out and help Tracy raise funds for such a worthy cause. So in 2009 the event moved to the Ashwood College Performing Arts Foyer. In 2010 we are expecting 100 women to attend this event in the Ashwood College Performing Arts Centre.

Blossom Circle Blog Name

In a recent planning meeting for the 2010 GNI event we decided to set up a blog so we can showcase this year's event to you and let you see photo's of past year's events. One of the hardest things was to come up with a name for the blog that would have link it to the event. In my research I discovered this description about blossoms.

In China the cherry blossom symbolizes feminine beauty, the feminine principle, or love in the language of flowers. Cherry Blossom is an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring.

So that is how Blossom Circle came about and how fortunate are we that the blossoms are out so I can take some beautiful photos to post.

    What a great name!! I look forward to seeing photos of last years great event and watching the planning for this year's one which, knowing how hard you all work, promises to be even better. Well done girls

    Thanks Dale for all your work on this great Blog. Hopefully it will inspire our friends to get behind the event and support us to raise money for the Cancer Council.
